We want to welcome our Nursery through 5th grade families back to Heights Kids Ministries!! We’ve missed you and your kiddos. Our volunteers are excited to spend time with your kids having fun and creating meaningful interactions that deepen their faith in Jesus! Please read the following as we walk you through what to expect on Sunday mornings as you drop off your kids.
When you enter the building, our Start Up Team will direct you to the tables with wellness forms for your child. If you are a first time guest, there will also be New Family forms available for you to fill out before going on to the check in counter. At the check-in counter we will ONLY offer assisted check-in. Your child will be checked in and you will receive ID labels for your family. Then just head for the classroom area using the door to the left of the check in counter (walking down the west hallway, by the office doors).
The Nursery will be the first drop off location. Families with older children please continue straight down the hallway to drop off in 252 Kids (K-5th grade) or round the corner to the right to drop off in PreK (2-5 year olds).
Once drop offs are complete, please use the east hallway to exit the children’s classroom area and head back into the Worship Center.
If a child needs to use the bathroom we will call the parent to assist their child and ask that they take the same route in the hallways.
The pick up line at the end of service will start outside each of the classrooms. Please continue ‘clockwise’ to leave the classroom area, then exit the building using the foyer doors. At the present time, we are asking that families do not congregate in the foyer.
What to expect in your child’s classroom:
Nursery: Masks are required for all Heights Kids volunteers. Once a toy is used it will be placed in a separate basket for the remainder of the day and cleaned following service. Snacks (fishy crackers) will be handed out with gloves by a volunteer. Grownups will check out the child by presenting the sticker that corresponds to the label on the child.
Pre-k: Masks are required for all Heights Kids volunteers. Lessons have been designed to limit the use of shared items. Once an item in the classroom is used, it will be placed in a separate container for the remainder of the day and cleaned following service. Volunteers will wear gloves to pass out individually packaged snacks. Grownups will check out the child by presenting the sticker that corresponds to the label on the child.
K-5th: Masks are required for all Heights Kids volunteers and K-5th grade students. Lessons have been designed to limit the use of shared items. Once an item in the classroom is used, it will be placed in a separate container for the remainder of the day and cleaned following service. Upon arrival in 252 Kids your child will be given a number and supply bag. The number they are given will correlate to where they stand during worship and the lesson. The supply bag will contain all they need for the morning's activities. Each student will go from the entry activity to the large group worship and lesson, which will be followed by small group time where they will also be provided with single serving snacks. They will stay in their small group for the remainder of service.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we serve our families during this time. As time goes on, methods may be subject to change, and we thank you for your flexibility as we do our best to keep everyone safe.
